KOTA KINABALU: The leaders of the United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO) held a meeting with Datuk Yap Pak Leong, former Sabah minister, to discuss various issues related to the 1963 Malaysia Agreement (MA63), including the 40 percent demand.

Yap previously served as a minister in the Ministry of Labour and Environmental Development of Sabah from 1976 to 1979 and the Ministry of Local Government and Housing of Sabah from 1976 to 1982.

The visit was led by the Chairman of the Native and Indigenous Affairs Bureau of UPKO, Datuk Dougles Primus, and accompanied by UPKO Vice President Datuk Wong Thien Fook and UPKO Executive Secretary Datuk William Sampil.

The meeting was held to discuss issues related to the 1963 Malaysia Agreement (MA63) advocated by the party.

On December 19, UPKO will hold a focused group discussion involving experts in the field to find the best mechanism for the repayment of 40 percent of federal revenues to Sabah.
