KUALA LUMPUR: ArmourZero, a cybersecurity firm specialising in automated vulnerability management powered by AI-driven remediation suggestions, announced today that it has received a strategic angel investment from YTM Colonel(H) Tunku Syed Razman Ibni Tunku Syed Idrus Al Qadri. The investment will facilitate ArmourZero’s expansion across ASEAN, North Asia, and West Asia (the Middle East), creating new opportunities for enterprises and strengthening trust with regional clients.

"All too often, we are mistaken for a reseller that simply retails other solutions or seen as a service-oriented company, rather than recognised as a provider of deep-tech cybersecurity products. As cyber threats evolve at a rapid pace, organisations require intelligent, automated solutions to respond in real time. This partnership will accelerate ArmourZero’s ability to access key markets and forge strategic alliances, ensuring our AI-driven solutions deliver meaningful impact, particularly in application security," said Tho Kit Hoong, Co-founder and CEO of ArmourZero.

Tunku Syed Razman Ibni Tunku Syed Idrus Al Qadri, who chairs the Malaysia-Saudi Arabia Business Council (MSBC), commented: "ArmourZero is addressing a vital gap in cybersecurity with a robust AI-driven approach to safeguarding all business applications. Our investment reflects confidence in their technology and its potential to set new benchmarks in automated application security across the region."

Artificial intelligence has propelled innovation in software development, with 84% of developers now utilising AI-generated code, often called "vibe coding" to accelerate build times while increasing exposure to potential vulnerabilities.

A 2025 study by Schreiber & Tippe analysing 7,703 AI-generated code files identified over 4,200 distinct vulnerabilities across 77 weakness types, with Python-based code exhibiting vulnerability rates of up to 18%. As AI becomes embedded in modern development workflows, the risk of introducing exploitable flaws into production systems continues to rise.

Conversely, IBM’s 2025 Cost of a Data Breach Report revealed organisations leveraging AI and automation in their security operations reduced average breach costs by up to USD 1.9 million compared to those without such technologies, emphasising the importance of proactive, tech-driven security.

These insights underline why AI and automation are vital for modern software development. By harnessing AI to guide remediation and verify vulnerabilities, ArmourZero empowers businesses to enhance application security swiftly and confidently.

The company is committed to advancing its technological roadmap to address emerging enterprise risks. As part of this effort, ArmourZero will launch its API Security solution later this month, targeting a critical blind spot by enabling developers and cybersecurity teams to automatically identify and remediate API vulnerabilities early, preventing costly breaches before they impact operations.
