KOTA KINABALU: Kadamaian Assemblyman Datuk Ewon Benedick said he wants the state government to continue with the upgrading of village roads project in the constituency.
He said there are still many village roads in Kadamaian that need upgrading to ease villagers and tourists who visit the area.
"It is hoped that the present-day government be concerned with the problems and needs of the villagers by proceeding with the building of concrete roads within the villages.
"Previously, we managed to upgrade several village roads in the area, however, there are still many roads here that require the present-day government's attention," he said after inspecting several upgraded roads in Kg Tangkurus and Kg Gandukut, here.
The former minister of rural development also mentioned that the State Economy Planner Unit (UPEN) and Public Works Department (PWD) have briefed the Kadamaian Community Development Leader Unit (UPPM) and other grassroots leaders about the upgrading status of three main roads in Kadamaian, including Jalan Tengkurus-Lahanas.
"(I am) grateful that the present-day government continues with the approval made by the previous government.
"I also manage to channel allocations for the building of concrete roads in Kg Tangkurus, which is the upgrading of the roads leading to this village's SIB church and surau."
