COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 101 NEW CASES, ONE CLUSTER

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today registered a total of 101 Covid-19 positive cases, bringing the cumulative number of the total statewide infections to 51,870.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said, no deaths were reported today.
"Today, a total of 87 patients have recovered and were discharged, bringing the tally of state recoveries to 50,324.
“Currently, 849 patients are still receiving treatment where 310 are treated in the hospitals, 537 in the Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centre, and two in temporary detention centres,” he said in a statement today.
Masidi added, of the total, 29 cases stemmed from close contact screening, symptomatic screening identified with seven cases, 48 cases from new and existing clusters, six cases from pre-ward admission and 11 from other categories.
Kota Kinabalu recorded the highest number of new cases with 18 cases, followed by Kalabakan (16), Kota Marudu (14), Kinabatangan (10), Lahad Datu and Tawau (nine), Keningau (seven), Sandakan (five), Papar (four), Putatan (three), Penampang and Beaufort (two), Tuaran and Beluran each with (one) case.
Meanwhile, Kota Belud, Semporna, Tambunan, Kudat, Pitas, Sipitang, Nabawan, Kunak, Telupid, Ranau, Kuala Penyu, Tongod did not record any new Covid-19 cases.
"The total number of Covid-19 patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 66 and 20 are ventilated," he stated.
However, Sabah reported one new cluster, the Singgahmata cluster in Lahad Datu today.
The minister said, the cluster has a cumulative total of 11 cases, including one new additional case reported today.
"The index case exhibited symptoms and was found positive through a screening test at Lahad Datu Hospital on Feb 13... The tracing activities and investigation of cause of infection are still being actively conducted."
