KENINGAU: In a continued effort to promote youth development through sports, the football team from Kampung Tuarid, Liawan, received a new set of football jerseys, a meaningful contribution that highlights the power of sport in uniting and empowering young people.

The initiative, spearheaded by Liawan State Assemblyman Datuk Annuar Ayub Aman, was officially handed over during a brief ceremony by Liawan Wiramuda Chief Michael Tambi and Deputy Chief Richard Adin, who represented Annuar in delivering the donation.

This contribution is part of a broader push to strengthen grassroots sports development, build character and discipline among youth, and encourage healthy, active lifestyles within the community.

“Annuar believes that sport is a powerful platform to shape the future generation. Through initiatives like this, he aims to ensure that young people are not left behind, but are given real opportunities to grow and contribute,” said Michael Tambi.

Team sports like football not only promote physical health but also teach vital life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and perseverance.

The jersey contribution symbolises more than just sporting gear, it represents recognition, encouragement, and belief in the potential of Kampung Tuarid’s youth.

The young recipients expressed gratitude for the support, stating that it boosts team morale and reinforces their commitment to staying active and engaged through sport.

Annuar’s consistent support for youth-oriented sports programmes is in line with his vision of Liawan Terurus (Well-Managed Liawan) and Liawan Maju (Progressive Liawan) , a vision grounded in real action to uplift youth through meaningful, community-based initiatives.
