JIUJIANG, China: The 2025 Jiujiang Cultural and Tourism Malaysia Promotion conference, themed “Jiujiang: The Essence of Chinese Landscapes”, was held in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.
The event was attended by Mr Wang Jianxin, Party Secretary and Director of the Jiujiang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism; Azmi Abdullah, Senior Deputy Director (Asia and Africa), Tourism Malaysia; Chen Meixin, Deputy President of the Malaysian Association of Chinese Tour Agents (MCTA); Kuang Rongfa, Party Secretary and Director of the Lushan Development Committee of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism; Wu Shuguang, Director of the Bureau of Culture, Tourism and Sports, Lushan Xihai Organisation and Publicity Department; Deng Feng, Secretary of the Leading Party Members Group of the Yongxiu County Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism; along with more than 80 representatives from scenic areas, travel agencies and the media.
In his remarks, Wang highlighted that the China–Malaysia visa exemption policy has made spontaneous “go-now” travel a reality. He emphasised Jiujiang’s readiness to share opportunities and foster tourism exchange with Malaysia, while warmly inviting Malaysian friends to visit and invest.
Chen noted that the two destinations complement each other well, adding that the new Kuala Lumpur–Nanchang direct flight would significantly enhance two-way tourist flows.
The promotion showcased Jiujiang’s three flagship attractions: Lushan, a UNESCO-designated World Cultural Landscape known for its cultural heritage and natural splendour; Lushan West Sea, famed for its thousand-island scenery, water sports and wellness retreats; and Yongxiu, home to the wetlands of Poyang Lake, celebrated as a “painted lake and paradise for migratory birds.”
A specially produced promotional video for the Malaysian market was premiered, featuring diverse cultural, natural and eco-tourism experiences.
During the event, MCTA signed a cooperation agreement with Jiangxi Yuanda International Travel, while Iki Holiday formalised a partnership with China Travel Service Jiujiang. Ng Wei Chuan, General Manager of Iki Holiday, pledged to harness the advantage of the new direct flight to bring more Malaysian visitors to Jiujiang, enabling them to experience its poetic scenery first-hand.
