SANDAKAN: The Yuk Choi Chinese Primary School Lion Dance Team in Sandakan held a Flag Presentation Ceremony in conjunction with their upcoming participation in the Borneo International Martial Arts, Dragon and Lion Dance Convention 2025, which will take place at the Kingwood Hotel, Sibu, Sarawak, from 5 to 7 September 2025.

In support of this mission, Liau Fui Fui, Chairperson of Jetama Water Sdn Bhd and Political Secretary to the Assemblyman for Tanjong Papat, contributed RM5,000 to help cover part of the team’s travel and logistics expenses.

Liau said, "Lion Dance is not merely an artistic performance, but a symbol of teamwork and cultural heritage. It is a source of pride to see our children bringing Sandakan’s name to the international stage. I hope the pupils will make the most of this opportunity to gain experience, build confidence, and at the same time promote our cultural traditions.”
